Sharing Photos

I hope you will feel free to share photos which reflect the changing face of Ellon through the years. Even the last 40 or so years have seen massive changes in Ellon, its people and in its culture. It would be good to have a photographic record of these changes.
The picture opposite is of the former St Andrew's Church which stood at the junction of Union Street and Station Road - flanked on its left side by "The Neuk" and on its right side by Whisky Brae. It was built in 1898 for the United Presbyterian Church which in 1905 joined with the Free Church to become the United Free Church(North). In 1927 it joined with the parish church of St Mary's to become St Andrew's Church of Scotland. In 1947 it was declared surplus to requirements and closed. It was then for a while Ellon Cinema and then a furniture showroom and was finally demolished in 1990 to provide sites for housing. Have you any recollections of this building or pictures of the inside. Please contribute.
